Netgear WNDR3700

I was quite anxious to get a WNDR3700. I had been window shopping for a decent OpenWrt capable 802.11n router for a while, and this one met every requirement I had (Gigabit Ethernet, dual radio 802.11n, USB port). The Backfire release firmware (the stable stuff) I put on had very unreliable 802.11n performance. I decided to build from SVN (I used r21847), which has been running pretty stable.

Hardware specifications

  • Atheros AR7161 rev. 2 680 MHz
  • 64 MiB RAM
  • 8 MiB flash
  • Realtek RTL8366SR Gigabit Ethernet switch
  • Atheros AR9280 802.11b/g/n wireless adapter
  • Atheros AR9280 802.11a/n wireless adapter
  • 1x USB 2.0

Lspci output
Unlike with my WL-500G, the lspci output is pretty sparse here...

root@zeus:~# lspci

00:11.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR922X Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01)
00:12.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR922X Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01)
