Reduced my desktop to a one bar layout, replaced stalonetray by trayer, centered TTM and put the conky clock at the bottom right.
Same ole same ole. This will probably be my default layout for the time to come. Openbox, stalonetray, ttm and some conky sweetness. I just found out about the 'when' calendaring app - awesome if you ask me :-). I hope I do remember birthdays now :P. And of course those pipe menus!
Well... I won't bother you anymore with my screenshots :P. But I have to admit - the undecorate option Openbox offers now seems a lot more useful to me. So here we go, one more time: the final (?) layout of my desktop, at least for a while - Openbox, Tint Task Manager at the bottom, stalonetray for the dock functionality on the upper left, wbar at the top, and the date and system reports are provided by the always lovely Conky.
Openbox 3.4.5 with wbar and stalonetray for systemtray functionality. All in all a bit lighter than my Xfce setup, and a bit fancier too :-).
This is how the XFCE logout dialog looks after applying Xubuntu's modified patch. It has some sloppy coding (hardcoded buttons and stuff, so I needed some help to sort that out - props to Larhzu for that!). As you may notice I have removed the 'switch user' functionality, that's because A) I don't use it, this is my laptop, noone elses, and B) it depends on GDM and I don't use that.
No, this wasn't April 1st. Probably there was some anti-FOSS (or anti-FSF, although that is more likely to be an anti-FOSS fella as well) that decided the Free Software Foundation's homepage was a threat to unexperienced internauts.
